What We Coach
Our EDGE (Elite Development & Game Education) Training Framework is developed by highly experienced and qualified coaches.
The EDGE Training Framework is broken down into five levels (Entry, Foundation, Advanced, High Performance and Elite), at the end of each level players will partake in an EDGE Assessment to measure their progress and inform players, parents/guardians, coaches and the club of required areas for improvement.

What We Train & When
Each season is broken down into five 6-week blocks, where each week focuses on a particular Player Skill Capability (scanning, positioning, technique, movement, deception, timing) within a particular Core/Advanced Technical Skill, Core 2/3 Player Move, or phases of play.
It is important to note that at no time is winning a priority until players are in the First Team; the focus at WCFC is always on LTAD! If a player is advanced for their age, they will move up a year so they receive the appropriate challenge. If a player is a late maturer they will move down a year so the challenge is not too difficult. Players will soon return to their appropriate age group once their physical abilities are matched with their peers.
The information below shows what players will be learning during each block:
